11 young men from Soufriere/Scotts head appear at the Roseau Magistrate’s Court on joint charge
Residents from the twin communities of Soufriere and Scotts Head gathered at the Roseau Magistrate’s Court on Thursday February 03rd, 2011 in support of eleven (11) young men from their communities against whom two charges were filed.
Donan Jervier, Miguel Hector, Josiah Jno Baptiste, Lester Tarvenier, Joniah Mourillon, Prince Constance, Christopher Jervier, Krishna Charles, Julian Pond, Marvin Bernard and Ackel Pacquette all appeared before magistrate Candia George for the charge of disorderly conduct and throwing missiles in a public place, to which they all pleaded not guilty.
According to the information relayed to the court, the eleven young men committed the offences on Friday January 28th, 2011.
A charge of battery was also filed against all of the young men except Donan Jervier.
Therefore, Donan Jervier was granted bail in the sumof $3000.00 in his own recognizance while the other ten young men were granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 also in their own recognizance.
They were ordered to reappear in court on April 29th, 2011.
In the interim, Christopher Jervier was fined $600.00 after he pleaded guilty two charges; possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
According to the facts of the matter, Christopher Jervier was found with the drugs in his possession on February 02nd, 2011.
The fine is to be paid by March 31st, 2011 in default two months imprisonment.
That very same day, Stan Xavier of Roseau was fined $1000.00 after he pleaded guilty to the charge of theft at the Roseau Magistrate’s court this morning.
Stan stole one Sony Erickson phone valued at $500.00 on Friday January 28th, 2011.
The phone belonged to Kareem Charles and was snatched from his ear by the defendant while he was attending to a call.
The fine is to be paid by March 31st, 2011 in default three months imprisonment.
