7 kilograms of alleged cocaine

On Sunday 9th December 2012 about 10am, members of the Drug Squad and Task Force conducted an anti-drug operation in Massacre.

During the operation vehicle registration number PR466 was being intercepted when it attempted to escape and posed a danger to the Task Force vehicle.

The tyres of the vehicle were deflated by gunshots causing the vehicle to stop.

The driver who was the only male occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody and 7 kilograms of alleged cocaine was found and seized.

The vehicle has also being seized.

Investigations are continuing.

70 kilograms of alleged cocaine

On 10th December 2012 about 3am, a joint operation between the Coast Guard and members of the Drug Squad lead to the seizure of 70 kilograms of alleged cocaine several miles off the west coast of Dominica.

Three Dominican nationals and one Colombian national are presently in police custody and are assisting with the investigations.

One open keel boat powered by 2 X 200 horse power engine has also being seized.
