A French Diplomat has denied press reports, that the French Government has blacklisted 17 countries including Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago, due to lack of cooperation in investigations of foreign aid fraud.

According to the Trinidad Express, French Ambassador, Jacques Sturm, there is “no blacklist”

He says the list in question comes from the France Development Bank (AFD). It is a working list for banking procedures and not an official list of the French government.

He went on to say that the French government has an official blacklist “which does not concern this issue.”

Mr. Sturm also stressed that Trinidad and Tobago was not getting any grants or loans from France Development Bank because it did not qualify because of its Gross Domestic Product.
