The full line up for this year’s 16th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) has been launched.

This year the festival has been dubbed “Homage to Jeff Jo, sweeter at 16” and will be held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Mr. Sobers Esprit, Marketing Personnel for WCMF says the committee is doing a number of things to make Jeff’s spirit be felt throughout the festival.

Digicel has been the headline sponsor of the WCMF since 2005.

Marketing Manager at Digicel, Ms. Nathalie Walsh is encouraging Dominicans, those in the Caribbean and the diaspora to be part of the festival on October 26th, 27th and 28th.

This year Digicel is sponsoring $225,000 in cash and $100,000 in kind.

The sponsorship of kind will cover promotions on island, regionally including prizes.

The main attendees of the festival are people between the age of 20 to 29.

When they are asked whom they would most like to see perform it was unanimous that they loved reggae artist.

Chairman of Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC), Mr. Colin Piper says this is why they sought Damien ‘Junior Gong’ Marley for the event.

He insists that even with accommodating these persons, at the end of the day it is still a World Creole Music Festival.

Night One is dubbed Dominica Night. Acts will include WCK, Asa Bantan, Kreyola, Tanya St. Val, Luc Leandra and Zouk Machine.

Night Two will include Krosfyah, Fanatik, Onyan of Burning Flames, Fredos of Seventee Plus of USVI, Dice and Sye, Taurus Riley, Disip Gazzman of Haiti and Triple Kay Global.
