2010 Grade six National Assessment results
The long awaited 2010 Grade six National Assessment results has finally been released by the Ministry of Education. Based on the results obtained, the Government of Dominica awarded scholarships to all students who received 4 grade A’s or 3 A’s and 1 B, 3 A’s and 1 C, or 2 A’s and 2 B’s. Students who obtained 4 B’s or higher will receive bursaries and student who have received 4 grade D’s or worse will be given the opportunity to remain in grade six to improve their basic skill and also a second chance to sit the examinations again next year. A total of 1039 students sat the examination this year of which 526 were boys and 519 were girls. Out of the total amount of students, 82 received scholarships and 116 received bursaries. All scholarship and bursary students will be financed with $500.00 and $300.00 respectively. The top performers at the 2010 Grade six National Assessment include, Reuel Francis of the Petite Savanne Primary, Kyra-Akilah Richards of the Convent Preparitory School, Kerchael Fanfan of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary, Nadezka Sanford of the Massacre Primary School and Adayah Balthazar of the Pioneer Preparitory School.
