Accident in Fond Cole

SAT TV NEWS 14-02-21 Friday.Still007One young man was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital, following an accident in Fond Cole on the morning of Friday February 21st 2014.

The incident occurred at about 8:15 am near the Fond Cole Bus stop, leaving a long back log of traffic for vehicles travelling in and out of the City.

Based on an eyewitness report, the incident occurred when a young man travelling on a Yamaha scooter registration number PS724, in a northerly direction, lost control and fell from his scooter, sliding across the road and came to a stop under a passenger bus.

Luckily for the young man, the bus Toyota Hiace bus registration number HE396 was not in motion, but had stopped to load passengers travelling into the City at the time.

The eyewitness reported that, following the incident, the young man was conscious and walked to the bus stop where he sat bleeding from his head, before the Ambulance personnel arrived to transport him to the Hospital.

The extent of his injuries are unknown, however he may have suffered head trauma from the accident.

It is suspected that the bald head tyre on the back of his scooter may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
