The A GANAR program was officially launched on Monday March 4th, 2013.

It is a program designed for students who have dropped out of school and want to continue their education.

The program and activity has been described as beneficial and necessary, that will bring the social center one step closer in trying to improve the lives of the Dominican Youth.

Currently, A GANAR is ongoing in the Portsmouth Call Program, Youth Division Program as well as prisons.

The skills they will be looking at are those that the children are interested in, not what the mentors want for them.

One of the skills they have difficulties sourcing is electronics.  Therefore, she is asking for help from anyone who has the experience in the electronics field.

After the skills program, they will be going out on internship for 80hours.  After the 80 hour program, the students will return to the center where the instructors will do a review on what they learnt.

A GANAR coordinator to Dominica, Mr. Francis Joseph, added that this programmed is initiated by a group called “Partner of Americas” and

Mr. Joseph advised the youth to ensure that they make the right decisions in life. He told them that he understands how difficult and tempting peer pressure can be. However, walking along the wrong path will lead to terrible consequences.
