A New Bath Estate / Elmshall Bridge coming soon
Plans are underway for the construction of a new bridge in the Bath Estate / Elmshall area.
That confirmation was made by the Minister of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Honorable Rayburn Blackmoore, during a site visit on Monday, September 19th.
Persistent showers associated with the passage of Hurricane Dean led to the destruction of the Bath Estate / Elmshall Bridge in 2007.
Mr Blackmoore said that government is well aware of the danger that the current bridge poses to residents in that area and they are now accepting tenders to facilitate the construction of a new bridge.
Mr Blackmoore also announced that the designs for the Bath Estate / Elmshall Bridge have already been finalized.
He said the Ministry of Public Works, Energy and Ports is exercising vigilance during the preparations of the designs, to ensure that the risk of flooding will be minimized following the erection of the new bridge.
No mention was made of the cost of the bridge neither the exact time-frame of when it should be expected.
