A rude awakening for Dominica’s manufacturers

The challenges facing the manufacturing sector on the Island were looked at closely when the Dominica Manufacturers Association met on June 22nd.

At the meeting they were given the opportunity to share their experiences and discussed ways that they can utilize their strengths and chart the way forward.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the association, Mr Severin Mckenzie commented, that it was important that the members come together to set the future agenda for the association, as manufacturing is very under emphasized in the country’s economy.

Mr Lynford Godfrey, President of the association, commented on the challenges facing the sector which are having a negative impact on manufacturing in Dominica. He spoke specifically of the key constraints said to be affecting the sector.

The Honorable Dr Colin Mcintyre, Minister for Trade, Acknowledged the challenges facing the sector and pledge support to the association.
