Admissions at the Dominica State College begin
Director of Admissions at the Dominica State College, Mr. Henry Volney, is urging students to not wait until they receive their CXC results to register for college.
According to Mr. Volney, admissions to the college for the 2011/2012 academic year are moving along smoothly.
So far, approximately six hundred and fifty first year students have already registered for the 2011/2012 academic year.
Although that figure is significantly less than the number of first year students registered for each academic year, Mr. Volney said that several students wait until CXC results are out to register for college.
Although the official registration date has passed, Mr. Volney said that no late registration fee will be imposed on students until after the CXC results have been released.
Mr. Volney said that the college will be introducing an entrepreneurship programme this year. However, no pre-nursing courses will be offered.
A twenty dollar late fee will be imposed on students who register following a week after the receipt of CXC results.
