AID Bank Hosts Interns for National Employment Programme
On Friday December 13th, the DAIDB – Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank conducted an orientation session, for interns assigned to the bank under the Government of Dominica’s National Employment Programme – NEP.
During his address to the interns, General Manager of AID Bank, Mr. Julius Corbette, advised them of the role and operations and services of the AID Bank, while commending them on their academic achievements in their various field of study.
He urged the interns to work hard, to help the Bank achieve its objectives, during a time when it is going through a transition.
Mr. Corbette encouraged them to be punctual; to follow to the instructions of their Managers; and to adhere to the dress code of the Bank, while expressing intolerance for deviant behaviour, and in essence, appealed to them to make the best use of this opportunity.
One of the interns, Mr. Shannon Laudat said it was a long process to get to this point; however, he is grateful for the opportunity.
Another intern, Ms. Aeyola George, said she will utilize all she learnt during her university studies for her degree in Media and Communications.
To acquire this opportunity Ms. George had to submit an application form in the Ministry of Trade, and then attend an orientation at the National Employment Programme’s Expo.
She was later selected as an intern for the AID Bank.
The interns are expected to work with the Bank for an initial period of six months.
