Ali Campbell of UB40 forced to cancel his contract to perform at the 14th WCMF
Chief Executive Officer of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) and Chairman of Dominica Festivals Committee, Mr Colin Piper announced on September 4th that Ali Campbell of ubUB40 will not be performing at this year’s World Creole Music Festival, as previously announced.
Piper said that he received an official statement from the artiste’s manager indicating that Ali had been diagnosed with the Epstein – Barr virus and was ordered by doctors to have 8 weeks complete rest. As a result, Ali Campbell has cancelled all touring commitments until the end of December, in order to fully recover from the virus.
He was scheduled to perform on Sunday night, October 31st at the festival.
Discover Dominica Authority and the Dominica Festivals Committee said that they are in the process of sourcing a replacement artiste for the festival.
The 14th annual World Creole Music Festival will run from October 29th to 31st at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau.
