Alix Boyd-Knights Condemns UWP’s Leader Statements Against Government Ministers – Edison James Responds
Speaker of the House of Assembly Alix-Boyd Knights, who is an advocate for rights for women and children issues says, the statement made by leader of the United Workers Party, Lennox Linton accusing Government ministers of prostituting young women for public assistance should be condemned.
She said UWP supporters should not condone statements which have shed a bad light on women.
However, former leader of the UWP, Edison James has come out in defense of Linton, stating Knights has no place speaking on the issue as she herself is guilty of making negative statements about women.
James, said Linton is handling the matter well which was forced unto the Government ministers by Senior Counsel Tony Astaphan.
James further stated, the UWP is in the process of compiling the data of women who were victims of the statements made by Linton, so they will be adequately prepared for the Court proceedings.
