All Saints Health Fair described as a success
The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at the All Saints University is describing a recent health fair as a major success.
Last weekend, scores of person patronized the health fair at the grounds of the All Saints University in Roseau to conduct free health checks.
Treasurer of AMSA, Marie-Claude Gilette said that the fair also provided educational health tips to the general public.
“You can get all the test taken; blood sugar, blood pressure and history. You can also check your eyes to make sure that everything is okay,” said Gilette.
Coordinator of the health fair, Ms Shara Georges underscored the importance of taking regular health checks.
“The health fair is very important because our life depends on our health. Dominicans are given the opportunity to get their health checked for free; blood pressure, glucose and visual acuity. They will also be doing educational activities on breast cancer, which is very important,” said Georges.
All Saints University have also taken the initiative to hold health fairs in the outskirts of the island; an effort aimed at reaching individuals who are unable to attend fairs in Roseau.
Persons who are interested in taking advantage of the opportunity may contact their office to find out when the health fair will be in their community.
