Alliance Francaise To Hold Concert As Part Of Domfesta 2012
The Alliance Francaise in collaboration with the Cultural Division will hold a concert that features Maryse Ngalula and Jean Remy Guedon as a duo.
Guedon plays the saxophone and flute and Ngalula is a singer from the Congo who sings in Luba Kasai and Swahili.
Dominicans can look forward to a jazz like concert in an intimate setting as part of DOMFESTA 2012 celebrations.
Mr. Pascal Tomasini, Director of the Alliance Francaise says that the institution is known to present Dominicans with a taste of foreign culture whole exposing them to new genres of music.
He noted that all performers who are invited to perform in Dominica by the Alliance Francaise are of African origins.
This he explained was because of the historical background between the two countries as well as the fact that almost all popular music can be traced back to Africa.
He is confident that this concert as with those in the past will be a success as Dominican people are very receptive of the cultural exposure offered and invites the public to the concert on April 3rd at the Alliance Francaise.
The Guedon Ngala duo concert will begin at 8 pm and tickets cost $20 and $10 for Alliance Francaise members.
