Animal Awareness Day
On February 3rd the public library opened its gates to children and adults to view several different species of animals on display on the library grounds.
The activity was called animal awareness day and was the 11th of its kind.
Mrs. Davina Joan, a librarian at the public library says that the aim was to present the public with domestic and wild animals in particular the pre- schoolers with a new experience.
The library collaborated with the livestock unit, forestry and wildlife and private owners to bring a variety of animals.
At the event were, fish, land turtles, crabs, iguanas, snakes, agoutis, guinea pigs and rabbits.
There were also birds that included chickens, ducks, doves, pigeons, peacocks, guinea fowl and ducks.
Live stock present included goats, sheep and pigs.
