Another Qualified West Indies Umpire from Dominica
One Dominican is making an appeal to people to be persistent and never give up on their dreams.
The West Indies Cricket Umpire’s association has officially handed Mr. Heston Charles his certificate as a qualified West Indies Cricket Umpire.
He received the certificate during their convention held in St. Lucia from July 16th to the 22nd, 2011.
Mr. Charles, who expressed his joy about his accomplishment, said that it takes some umpires a lifetime to become fully certified, but he is proud to have achieved this milestone at the age of 37.
There are three stages before one can become a certified umpire.
There is also an oral part of the exam.
While he is thankful to all those who encouraged him along the way, Mr. Charles is making an appeal to the youth to never give up on their dreams.
