Appleton Rum and J. Astaphan and Co. donates EC $ 50,000.00 to World Creole Music Festival
Appleton Rum, distilled and blended by J. Wray & Newphew in Jamaica and leading local distributor J. Astaphan & Company are sponsoring the 14th Annual World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) to the tune of EC $ 50,000.00.
Earlier today a cheque was presented to the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) Events Director Nathalie Clarke, at the weekly DFC Press Conference. The Sponsorship which is in the form of cash and kind places Appleton into the Silver sponsorship category for the 14th Annual WCMF, which is carded for October 29th – 31st, 2010.
Astaphan Representative Winston St. Luce said that they are honored that Appleton has been selected as the Official Rum of the WCMF and are proud to partner with the DFC for this premier event.
As a major Sponsor, Appleton Rum will be sold and served exclusively during the three (3) nights of pulsating rhythms. According to St. Luce, during the three (3) nights, Appleton will be sold at a reduced price.
He said that each night, festival Patrons will get a chance to win $ 50.00 every hour, when they buy Appleton drinks. There will be six (6) winners each night. One (1) lucky Appleton customer will win an all expense paid trip to the Appleton Estate, in Jamaica, where the famous Appleton rum is distilled, blended and bottled.
Appleton has been in the rum making business for over 250 years. The Appleton Estate is home to Jamaica’s oldest sugar factory and distillery in continuous production.
