Assistant Coach of the West Indies Team Says All is Set
Assistant Coach of the West Indies team, Mr. Toby Radford says, all is set and they are very confident when they face Zimbabwe for the second Test of the International Home Series.
The series will kick off from Wednesday March 20th to 24th 2013, and will be played at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
Mr. Radford said they have been enjoying a really good run thus far since the games began at the one day games in Grenada, followed by the 20/20 wins in Antigua.
He said the team’s morale was further boosted when they won the first Test last week in Barbados.
The camp is very confident, says Mr. Radford however they never take any game lightly, so they are preparing as they normally do, to put on an excellent performance in Dominica.
Mr. Radford revealed that the team has been very strong at home games, but struggle away from home.
However it is hoped that the next away from home series they play, the team will display a lot of confidence and show the same form as in their home games.
The Assistant Coach says there is a lot of work to be done, but he has seen many improvements in the team’s players.
He stated the crowd’s support is also very important.
Manager of the West Indies team Mr. Richie Richardson also echoed the sentiments of the team’s assistant coach that the team is very confident.
He said they will not take Zimbabwe for granted, especially as cricket is an unpredictable game and you have to always be on top of your game to thrive.
Mr. Richardson says the team is focused on winning over Zimbabwe convincingly weather permitting.
He added, he is very satisfied with the team, which is made up of young and old but experienced players.
The team’s Manager is appealing to all Dominicans to come out in large numbers to support the West Indies team as they have done in the past.
