Attorney General Francine Baron Royer calls it quit

Effective today, Attorney General Francine Baron Royer has called it quit, ending her tenure with the government of Dominica.

Mrs Royer who left her private practice in 2007, after receiving an offer from Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, took a decision not to retain her contract that ended today.

She told the media that she will be returning to her private practice and that her decision was not as a result of problems within the cabinet. She said that she was honored to serve her country and she is positive that she executed her duties without ‘fear or favor’ in keeping with the principles of law and ethics of her profession.

However, one source hinted that President of the Dominica Bar Association, Mr Levi Peter may be the possible replacement.
