Be Prepared this Hurricane Season


Roosevelt Skerrit.jpgIt serves as a time to make preparations for the hurricane season or any other disaster, for that matter.

Nationals are being called upon to identify potential hazards in their areas and to work at removing them.

Everyone is asked to cut loose branches around their residence, clear drains, repair windows and stock up on supplies.

Communities are asked to co-operate with their village councils in the matter.

The hurricane season, which began on June 1st, 2011, has been predicted to be a rather tough one.

The Hurricane Center meteorologists has predicted a total of fifteen named tropical storms, eight of which will become hurricanes and four of which will attain major hurricane status.

Usually, there would be ten tropical storms, six of which could become hurricanes and only two would attain major hurricane status.
