Her Excellency Godelieve Van Den Bergh, Belgium’s new Ambassador to Dominica

Her Excellency Godelieve Van Den Bergh, Belgium’s new Ambassador to Dominica, on Friday March 14th 2014, paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs in Dominica.

Ambassador Van Den Bergh replaces Ambassador Frederic Meurice, following years of relations established between the two countries since 1980.

The Ambassador presented her credentials to President of the Dominica, His Excellency Charles A. Savarin, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

President Savarin highlighted the desire to further strengthen and maintain the cordial relations that already exist between the two countries; as well as explore other means to improve and deepen the bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Mexican Ambassador Luis Manuel Moreno also paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister, on Friday, March 14, 2014 and presented his letter of credence to President Savarin on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.

For a number of years, Dominica has benefitted through its bilateral relations with Mexico through scholarships to pursue studies at selected Mexican Universities.
