Career Day In Convent High School
The students and staff of the Convent High School displayed the various careers choices available to the students as they celebrated Career Day on Aril 3rd.
Miss Annette Austrie, a Health and Family Life Teacher at the Convent High School, says that the exhibition was fully student driven with support from the parents.
Students of the third form put on the displays and managed the exhibits that put on representations of different sectors of work such as medicine, law and performing arts.
The purpose of the event was to provide the students of the third form who will be selecting CXC subjects soon a chance to get an idea of the extent of choices available to them in terms of selecting a career.
The students put on displays such as a creation of a forensic lab, that also featured a morgue and pathology lab, an airplane and a veterinary lab to name a few.
Musically inclined students formed a live band and also did a display on voice acting.
The displays were all part of a Health and Family Life class and proved to be a uniting effort of parents and students of the school.
Other displays included Engineering, Epidemiology, Genetics, Fashion, Graphic designing and Culinary art.
Students went beyond the usual careers and also created a fairy tale scene complete with villains and story to the amusement of onlookers.
