Major stops along the way included; Grandbay, Bagatelle, Fond St Jean, Delices, La Plaine, Morne Jaune, Riviere Cyrique, Castle Bruce, Kalinago Territory and Belles, concluding in Roseau.

According to Ms. Jo-Ann George, Programme Officer of CHAA, this was done in observancevlcsnap-2013-12-03-16h10m46s172 of World AIDS Day 2013.

Officially World AIDS Day is annually celebrated on December 1st, however this activity was one of the numerous events forming part of the 2013 observance in Dominica.

The theme for this year’s observation is ‘Getting to Zero through social justice and equality’.

Ms. George says, it is important that people are aware of the risks, as they may engage in activity not knowing they are placing themselves at risk of contracting HIV.

She is urging Dominicans to stick to one partner and to practice safer sex.

Persons who consume high amounts of alcohol and other drugs are being advised to reduce their intake, as this reduces their ability to make wise decisions.
