CARICOM Consultations Concludes

Ms Myrna Bernard, Officer-in-Charge of the Directorate of Human and Social Development

The two day CARICOM Delegation has closed its curtains after a series of consultations in Dominica.

These consultations were aimed at sensitizing Dominicans on the plans and projects of CARICOM, as well as listening to the ideas and suggestions of groups and individuals on a way forward.

Over the last few years, concerns have been raised with regard to the progress of CARICOM and its implementation deficit.

Representatives from the Caribbean community held various discussions with different groups, including consultation working groups, private sector organizations, Labour Unions, Cooperatives, Non-Governmental Organizations and others.

The CARICOM Delegation’s next appearance will be in Suriname.
