Cash Donations from Proceeds of President’s Charities Dinner
A total of nineteen thousand dollars ($19,000) which was raised at the President’s Annual Charities Dinner was presented to various organisations this morning, 11th November, 2010, at the Dominica Public Service Union Hall, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Nicholas J.O Liverpool. A total of nineteen thousand dollars (19,000) was contributed in charities. While delivering a report on the success of the dinner, Mr. Antoine Raffoul, a member of the President’s Charities Foundation, said that The Foundation made a profit of forty-seven thousand eighty-two dollars and fifty cents ($47,082.50).
The benefitting organisations were the Dominica Association Of Persons Living With Disabilities, St. Jerome’s Ministry, Mrs. Irma Lafond Joseph, The Dominica Council On Ageing, REACH, The House Of Hope, St. Vincent De Paul Society (Roseau/North), The Roving Caregivers Programme, The Social Center (towards the St. Ann’s Nursery), The Mahaut Gospel Tabernacle and The Mahaut Senior Citizens’ Home. The various organisations expressed their gratitude to The President’s Charities Foundation, while explaining their cause.
The President’s Charities Dinner is held annually at The Fort Young Hotel. HHV Whitchurch and Company Ltd, Archipelago Trading Ltd, Issa Trading Ltd, DOMLEC, The Fort Young Hotel, Petro Caribe and LIME Dominica Ltd were among sponsors who were commended for their continued generosity and assistance every year.
