Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Premier League Damien O’Donohoe

Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Premier League Damien O’Donohoe says, he is hoping to target a viewership of 70 million viewers in this year’s staging of the event.

In an interview on Wednesday June 11th, he stated although the inaugural event in 2013 was a success with 36 million viewers, they are expecting to surpass that number this time around.

SAT Telecoms is the official broadcaster of the event, which begins on July 11th, six franchises will battle each other to win the Caribbean Premier League 2014.

They are; Guyana Amazon Warriors, Antigua Hawksbills, Trinidad Tobago Red Steel, Barbados Tridents, Saint Lucia Zouks and Jamaica Tallawahs.

According to O’Donohoe, an economic impact study by the Mona School of Business at the West Indies revealed that the CPL brought in revenue in excess of US $105 million.

The tournament will attract people from all around the world, for the newest T20 league.

It will be exciting to watch whether the Jamaica Tallawahs can defend their title or the CPL will have a new title holder this year.
