Child Fund Caribbean officially launches Federations in the East and West of Dominica

Child Fund Caribbean further expanded its programs to disadvantaged children and families around the island when the institution launched two federations on Sunday, August 29th, 2010.

Edney Benjamin, President of the East Federation said that the decision to form these two Federations will not only strengthen the existing affiliates, but will also provide greater awareness of the programs that are currently offered by Child Fund Caribbean.

According to Joseph, “the different reports from the affiliate shows that we could not work on our own. Listening to the different reports from Marigot, Castle Bruce and La Plaine tells us that we were in a crisis and it is impossible that these affiliates could stand on their own.”

President of the West Federation, Mr Arthur Hilton thanked the many sponsors currently assisting the institution, while he called on other stakeholders in Dominica to support their programs.

“My desire is to serve and to educate and to lift up the standard of families and children of the federation. We therefore thank our sponsors and we are calling on local institutions and concerned individuals who have a heart to help change the life of a child or family,” said Hilton.

Mandisa Ducreay is the Federation Coordinator for the west while Mrs Velma Moses Joseph is the Federation Coordinator for the East. Mr David Nicholas is the Child Fund Area Manager.
