Chinese Ambassador Deng Boqing bids farewell to Dominica
H.E Dr Nicholas J.O Liverpool, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, other Ministers, well wishers and friends gathered at the State House on August 18th, 2010 to bid to pay their tribute and bid farewell to Chinese Ambassador H.E Deng Boqing, who ended his tenure as Ambassador in Dominica this week.
The Ambassador who has been in Dominica for just about four years, described his time in Dominica as exciting, having accomplished a lot during these four years. He identified the growing relationship between Dominica and China as one of the greatest achievements, over the years.
“My time here has always been enjoyable and exciting. What is more gratifying is that I have been privileged and proud to witness steady progress of the China/Dominica bilateral relations,” said Ambassador Boqing.
Prime Minister of Dominica Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit assured the Ambassador that Dominica will continue to uphold the One China policy, as the government stands ready to welcome the new Ambassador.
He said that he too, is proud of the achievements over the years, as Dominica has seen tangible benefits of the relationship between the two countries.
“Ambassador, you are leaving behind a legacy that your successor will inherit; one with a deep sense of hospitality which exists in Dominica. The love that you and China showed to our people, your successor will inherit,” said Skerrit.
Ambassador Boqing left the island on August 19th, where he will take up the position of Chinese Ambassador in Nigeria.
