Closing of Referees Advance Course
Sixteen referees benefited from The Referees Advanced Training Course organized by The Dominica Football Association (DFA).
As part of the assessment of the training course, a Referees Fitness Test was held on Sunday 28th November, 2010.
The top three participants in The Referee Fitness Test were Floyd Capitolin in third place with 220 points, Marlon Xavier in second with 223 points and Ericson Degalarie in first place with 228 points.
The DFA held its referees Advance Course Closing Ceremony at The Patrick John Football House, Bath Estate, on Tuesday.
President of The Dominica Football Association Patrick John, says as a result of the fitness test on Sunday, more emphasis needs to be placed on the further development of the referees.
In this regard, The DFA will be establishing a Referees Department, facilitating development and fitness of referees.
He says the fitness levels of football referees ensure peak performance and delivery and they should be physically fit and thoroughly trained before given the duty.
Mr. Merere Gonzales, the Course Instructor, was pleased at the success of the course and hopes that the DFA takes the knowledge learnt in order to improve the development of football in Dominica.
In his opinion, the DFA should continue under the slogan of ‘Recruiting, Education and Fitness’ (REF).
