Co-operatives societies’ league launching of the bereavement benefit plan
The Dominica co-operative held a press conference on Wednesday February 29th, which was held at the national development foundation of Dominica (NDFD), for the launching of their bereavement benefit plan.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Ketura George nation, the training and marketing officer for the league says, this year the league will be launching new services throughout this year leading up to 2015.
Ms. Nation says if when someone dies they are not enrolled with any funeral association, the family has the burden of taking a loan for the burial of that person.
She says this bereavement plan will eliminate the trouble of having to take a loan for burials.
League president Mr. Cletus Joseph says anyone can afford this bereavement plan, since is only a contribution of $60.00 on an annual basis, which will assist with burial and funeral arrangements when this time comes.
The Dominica co-operatives league was established in 1957.
