Cocoa Farmers Field School Training Programme
47 farmers from the North East are better able to work with cocoa. This comes after their dedication and the successful completion of a Cocoa Farmers Field School Training Programme.
Theodora Anthony Williams, Crop Development Officer at DEXIA, says this is a new form of learning for the farmers.
As part of the programme they covered pruning, black pot control, rehabilitation and seedling production nursery management.
The school was conducted at Salybia, Marigot and Castle Bruce.
Mrs. Anthony Williams says the farmers enjoyed the experiences tremendously.
The farmers are from the communities of Bense to Concord, Kalinago Territory and Castle Bruce.
A graduation ceremony will be held at the Kalinago Barana Aute on July 18th.
