Community Day of Service, beatification style
Members of the Rotaract Club of Dominica has once again left their mark in society as they came together yesterday November 4th 2010 to beautify the City of Roseau and its surroundings, an initiative that the Prime Minister of Dominica has set in place for the entire country for Community Day of Service. While speaking to SAT TV News at the Goodwill Primary School, the members said that they are quite pleased to be the ‘trend-setters’ of this venture as they believe that painting the pillars of the school raises the awareness among the students of the six pillars of characters needed to be a better individual. Residents of Kingshill also contributed to the 2010 Community Day of Service activities as they united as a community to beautify the surroundings that was destroyed by Tropical Storm Tomas last week. Meanwhile, it was apparent that that the beautification initiative took full flight in the community of Bath Estate but with garbage. According to some of the residents, the fact that the garbage which was supposed to have been disposed of since Tuesday was still laying on the ground as a result hampered with progress of the Community Day of service activities.
