Construction of St. Cyr Resource Centre Progressing Smoothly
Minister for Carib Affairs and Parliamentary Representative for the Salybia Constituency, Honourable Ashton Graneau, says he is pleased with the progress of works on the St. Cyr Resource Centre.
The St. Cyr Resource Centre is one of six components under the Kalinago Territory Capacity Building Project currently being implemented.
Graneau stated that the Dominica Labour Party Administration recognized the need to construct the facility for the people of his constituency.
He said and I quote, “Work is progressing satisfactorily; they have done all the major works and what is required now is the roof and that is where they are, so soon we hope they would be completing by October based on the contract,” unquote.
When completed the St. Cyr Resource Centre will house a modern pre-school; a post office; a cultural performance and community activity auditorium; and administrative offices for the St. Cyr Development Committee.
The project is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank to the tune of EC $1,455,575.30.
The contract for construction of the facility was signed on the 8th of August, 2013.
The contracting firm is Ace Engineering.
