Convent Prepatory student Mikala Jno- Baptiste tops Preliminary Round of the BDS Reading Competition

The final competition in the preliminary round of the DBS Reading Competition took place today at the Public Service Union Building on Valley Road in Roseau.

With a panel of three judges, Convent Prepatory student Mikala Jno- Baptiste won   the preliminary round , on June 14th, with a total of 267 points.

The St. Mary’s Primary was very competitive as they placed second with 266 points.

The St. Martin Secondary School came in third position with 258 points, the seventh Day Adventist School in 4th position with a total of 251, while The Roseau Primary with a total of 250 points placed 5th.

Other participants in the competition were the Goodwill Primary, Laudat Primary, Morne Prosper Primary, Trafalgar Primary, and Wotten Waven Primary Schools.

The result of the first quarter final competition which took place on Monday 17th June at the Public Service Union will be given in a subsequent news cast.

Winners of the preliminary round competitions 1 and 2 will participate then.
