Peter alfred of castle bruce was fined a total of $2,000 to be paid by december 31st, 2011 after he pleaded guilty to the charge of theft of agricultural produce, before magistrate candia george today.

According to the facts of the case, alfred stole a bunch of bananas valued at $10.00 from mr isaiah mingo of castle bruce on october 2nd, 2011.

Ben darroux of portsmouth was sentenced to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing a number of items from a home in wallhouse on october 3rd, valued at $76.85.

Stolen items included three women’s underwear, a broom stick, a silver chain, a bag of cat food and a packet of wheatabix.

Darroux, who previously appeared before the court on numerous counts of theft pleaded with magistrate candia george for a non-custodial sentence, but she was not convinced.

She told the court that it made no sense to even send him to prison, since he commits the same offences immediately after being released.

And finally, one man will reappear at the roseau magistrate’s court on january 11th, 2012 for the preliminary inquiry into a charge of indecent assault which was brought against him.

The man allegedly assaulted an eleven year old young on september 30th, 2011.

Bail is open to the defendant with an appropriate surety.
