Crime Stoppers Receive Donation from Scotia Bank

The Crime Stoppers Dominica Foundation received a significant donation on Friday May 10th, as the organization was presented with a cheque for the sum of $5000.00 from the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Director of Crime Stoppers Dominica, and recipient of the cheque Ms. Genevieve Astaphan stated, this donation will go a long way in fighting crime, while aiding in the dissemination of information Island-wide.

Crime Stoppers, she said, allows the public to give information freely without any fear of retaliation.

If the information submitted leads to an arrest, the caller is also rewarded.

Ms. Astaphan said, we all need to work in harmony with each other to make Dominica a crime free country.

She praised the Scotia Bank for their kind donation, and said  that the Corporate Community needs to do a lot more to support Crime Stoppers.

Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia Mr. Jim Alston stated, this donation was part of the Bank’s mandate in giving back to the community.

Mr. Alston added they will continue to make donations to the Crime Stoppers Dominica.
