Cruise Ship Season to Reopen Soon
Minister for Tourism, Mr. Ian Douglas, is calling for improved service from stake holders for the 2013/ 2014 cruise ship season, which officially opens in October.
Dominica has set the mark, for a twenty percent increase in cruise ship calls; however the Minister is urging Dominicans not to practice complacency.
The off season has been utilized to educate the individuals involved in the tourism sector.
Dr. Douglas says Dominicans need to be unique and utilize the local crafts to have a comparative advantage.
Island wide efforts to enhance visitor experience to Dominica are still ongoing.
Dr. Douglas emphasized that the survival of the industry depends on the nation and an improved tourism industry will attract more visitors to the Island.
