The 27th Annual General Meeting of the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities Inc. (DAPD Inc.) was held at the Public Service Union Centre (PSU), Valley Road, on Monday August 27th.

The meeting was held under the theme: ‘Ensuring the Full and Equal Enjoyment of all Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms by all Persons with Disabilities in Dominica’.

Mr. Murphy says the Association has been on a campaign for a barrier free society not only in Dominica and the Region, but throughout the world.

He mentioned that life is beyond our control therefore there is no guarantee what may happen and we may be the ones disabled tomorrow.

The chairman believes that the main issue for the disabled persons is accessibility.

Executive Director says finance is one of the depressing struggles for the association however, they are trying to deal with it the best way that they can.

Mr. Heston Charles from KAIRI FM Radio presented a cheque to DAPD, which represented proceeds from a Sponsored Walk organized as part of World Environment Day.
