DABA Playoffs: Heywood Powell’s 4-Point Play Help Tigers Secure a Division 1 Finals Spot
Game 1 – Tigers proved to be the better team last night in final game of the best of 3 series in the Division 1 semi finals. After a back and forth tussle all game it came down to the heroics of one player Heywood Powell.
With 8 seconds remaining and Falcons leading by 3 points Tigers needed 4 points to win and the miracle happened. Heywood drove the ball down to the 3 point line, pulled up for the shot and was fouled with just 2 seconds remaining on the clock tying the game 75-75.
Fans, filled with excitement, rushed on the court in celebration, cheering and congratulating Heywood. The court was cleared by the refs and Heywood stepped up to the free throw line to attempt to complete the 4-point play to win the game. The game was now in his hands.
With one shot on the free throw line and as if to say it was not a mistake, he coolly made the free throw to take the 1 point lead and the game.
Final scores Tigers 76 to Falcons 75 points.

Game 2 – Dr Mac Prowlers came from behind in the fourth quarter to halt the former champions Signman X-Men from returning to finals with a 2 game sweep, tying the series 1-1.
The final score was Prowlers 67 points to X-Men 52 points.
Top scoring for Prowlers were Joel McIntyre 16 pts, Julian Isles 12 pts and Fitzgerald Daniel 8 pts.
Ken Leslie 13 pts and Ivan Jnobaptiste 9 pts for the X-Men.
