The Permanent Secretary says, they are looking at 10 megawatts by 2016 and an additional 5 megawatts, so by the end of 2016 they will have 15 megawatts of power coming from geothermal energy on our local grid.

He also added that by 2018 Dominica should have 20 megawatts available to the local grid.

He said this power will only be generated from the Wotten Waven site, which has a lot of potential.

Mr. Blackmoore stated, the support of the business community at the early stages of this project is very important, as it will mean cheaper energy consumption bills.
