DAVA Concludes Season for 2013


Xerox Acers, 2013 women champions

The Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association, has closed its curtains on the volleyball season for 2013, but emphasized on its commitment to enhance the sport.

A small ceremony was held at the LIME Complex in Canefield on August 31st, where many individuals were awarded for their sportsmanship throughout the year.

In the women’s category, Xerox Acers gained the championship for 2013, whilst Lime Strike Force stood in second position.

For the 2013 male national champs, Young vets seized the championship from Lime wolfpac who held the title for seven years, Wolfpac was second runner up in the competition.

Captain Anna Maria Xavier of the Xerox Acers team was named the most valuable player in the female division.

Meanwhile Lincoln Riviere of the Young Vets was named the Most Valuable Player in the males division.

Lincoln Riviere spoke of his achievement as MVP FOR 2013.

Anna Marie Xavier Most Valuable player in the Women’s Division, was elated to be crowned as MVP and said despite hindrances she definitely worked hard.


Dia Peltier, Best Male Passer

Mr. Albert Loblack, President of the DAVA presented this year’s end remarks of the association for 2013

Other awardees included Carlene Beaupier for Best Female Passer and Dia Peltier for Best Male Passer.

Best Female Blocker went to Sharie Maronie and Best Male Blocker was copped by Shane Guiste.

The association intends to continue its activities.
