Deadly blast in Pakistan’s Quetta
An explosion has ripped through a crowded area of the Pakistani city of Quetta in Balochistan province on January 10th, killing at least 11 people.
The south-western city’s police chief said the blast was caused by a bomb, and injured a further 27 people.
Reports said the device detonated close to a military checkpoint, although no target has been suggested.
Balochistan is plagued by a separatist rebellion and sectarian infighting between Sunnis and Shias.
