DFC Chairman Advises to Seek Alternate Airlines to Attend WCMF
Chairman of Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC), Mr. Collin Piper is advising persons intending to travel to Dominica for the 17th Annual World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), to consider alternate means of travel, rather than relying solely on LIAT.
The regional carrier has recently been plagued with constant setbacks, cancellations and delays, that raised outrage throughout the public.
The month of October is not a busy time for the carrier, with its third ATR 72-600 now operating in the region.
Based on past experiences working with LIAT, Mr. Piper highlighted that the airline has displayed the willingness to change their flight schedules in order to accommodate travellers wishing to attend the World Creole Music Festival.
This dedication has led the DFC to have a general comfort level with LIAT, during the time leading up to the WCMF.
There is also the option of Seaborne Airlines, providing flights from San Juan Puerto Rico, while persons coming from Guadeloupe, St. Lucia and Martinique can travel via the ferry service.
