DFC satisfied with the support from corporate companies in staging Dominica’s 2011 carnival

Events Director of the Dominica Festivals Committee, Mrs Nathalie Clarke Meade has said that the DFC is very pleased with the support that they are receiving from corporate companies in Dominica, ahead of the 2011 Real Mas celebrations.

Just on Wednesday, DFC welcomed another major sponsor, Nature Islands Paper Products, owned by local businessman Severin McKenzie.

Mrs Meade, who is directly involved in organizing this year’s carnival events for the first time in the capacity of events director of the Dominica Festivals Committee, says she is really pleased to see the generosity of Dominicans who combine their resources, with the aim of making the 2011 carnival celebrations a success.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Carnival Development Committee, Alwin Bully, says every year, they introduce new fringe events, and is soliciting the support of the general public in making these events a success.

This year they have added the Dimanche Gras Way-Lay-Lay, which will feature a kiddies carnival, a dance-off and a DJ competition, on March 6th, 2011.

The event is being held in collaboration with reality Stepperz Entertainment.
