DHTA and DDA Partner to Educate the Public on Tourism
On Thursday May 23rd, the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) in partnership with Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) held a brief workshop on tips and tools to improve tourism managerial skills.
This initiative is part of the commencement of Tourism Awareness Month and is aimed towards the management of tourism enterprises.
The objective of the workshop is to provide cost effective tips and tools on customer service, crisis management certification, packaging and social media among other aspects.
Ms. Yvonne Armour, President of the Hotel and Tourism Association, says it is very important that the stakeholders show support and recognize their value and the significance of their feedback in the process.
Director of the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association, Mr. Collin Piper, says the target is to acquire 90,000 visitors by the end of 2015.
It is imperative that the Tourism Industry continues working towards their standards, developing their products and improving their skills in order to reach this target, he said.
