Disaster stimulation in Bath Estate
The Bath Estate Disaster Committee alongside the Dominica Red Cross and other emergency personel took part in the National Disaster Management Office organized simulation exercise on Lower Bath Estate.
The evacuation drill exercise sought to engage residents on how they should respond to flash floods.
It was conducted in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Caribbean Disaster Management Project (CADM), Phase two project and other supporting agencies.
The exercise trained the Bath Estate residents in basic First Aid, such as checking vital statistics such as blood pressure and setting broken limbs to name a few.
It also demonstrated the proper emergency procedures such as the necessary departments to call such as the Fire and Ambulance Services.
The evacuation procedures were developed and circulated to residents of Bath Estate to guide them on how they should respond in the event of flash floods.
