Dominica and the People’s Republic of China Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

vlcsnap-2014-03-20-16h15m23s151Dominica and the People’s Republic of China have reason to celebrate a significant milestone, as the two countries have reached one decade of shared relations.

Since Dominica and China established diplomatic relations on March 23, 2004, the two countries have enjoyed a meaningful partnership promoting mutual cooperation, culture and peace.

The Government will begin celebrations with the Embassy of the Peoples’ Republic of China to mark the first decade of Diplomatic relations on Friday March 21, 2014 at the Arawak House of Culture from 8:00 pm.

At that event, the Nanjing National Orchestra will stage a cultural performance which is open to the general public.

The Nanjing National Orchestra was established in 1986 and is comprised of artist of Chinese folk music.footage (2)

The Government of Dominica and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will also host a cocktail reception on Saturday, March 22 at the Conference Centre of the State House, to officially celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Dominica-China relationship.

A year of joint activities is planned to commemorate the first decade of Dominica–China diplomatic relations throughout 2014.
