Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association annual general meeting
Twenty two months ago, we were at a very low stage and could barely pay or bills to the point all electrical devices had to be unplugged, and only what needed to be used right away would be turned on.
This was a statement made by, president of the dominica hotel and tourism association (dhta), mr. Simon walsh as he explained the organization’s struggle, at the dhta annual general meeting held at the fort young hotel on tuesday october 17th.
Minister of tourism and legal affairs, honourable ian douglas commended the dhta and business owners, directly involved in tourism for their perseverance during the global financial crisis.
Mr. Douglas advised the members present that, the government will continue to work with them to improve tourism on the island and that it’s not only about the private sector but all dominicans because tourism is everybody’s business.
