Dominica PM Addresses Antigua & Barbuda Inauguration Ceremony

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday June 18th, the official Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda (ABLP) was installed, after emerging victorious on June 12th 2014.

ABLP won 14 out of 17 seats to secure their position at the recent general elections.

Prime Ministers from across the region including Prime Minister, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit were expected to attend the ceremony.

However due to setbacks, Prime Minister Skerrit was unable to attend and sent his address through a recorded message.

“For me as Prime Minister of Dominica Antigua & Barbuda is more so a crucial cornerstone of the Dominica Diaspora,” The Prime Minister stated.

He said Antigua & Barbuda has been good to Dominica and is home to thousands of Dominicans, and their interest is his interest, in addition to their happiness being his happiness while stating their celebration is also a source of great joy to him as leader of their native land.

According to Prime Minister Skerrit, Antigua & Barbuda, Prime Minister, Gaston Browne is expected to serve at a crucial point in our region’s development.

He added the people are looking to their leaders as persons of inspiration and definitive action.

He also urged the people of Antigua & Barbuda to embrace the current Government and help pilot the social and economic state of the country.
